Frequently Asked Questions About Nursery Schools and Kindergartens
Finding a good quality nursery school and kindergarten is an important task for a parent. Whether you’re looking for a private or public school, focused on academics or religion, you must ask the right questions to ensure the best quality education for your child. Here are some frequently asked questions you may want to ask:

What is the child to teacher ratio
It’s ideal to have a very low child to teacher ratio to ensure your child gets the most one on one attention possible. This isn’t always possible, though, especially in a kindergarten setting. Ask how many students are in one class. This number can vary between 15 and even 30 students depending on the class. The child to teacher ratio is more strict in nursery schools, due to the young age and maturity level of students, as well as the curriculum.

Do you offer after school care?
Many private nursery schools and kindergartens offer after school care for their students. They may also offer care for older siblings coming from other schools at dismissal time. This may be a valuable feature for you if you work full time. Make sure the care is adequate, though, with qualified teachers and aides. Make sure there are plenty of work stations for older kids to do homework, as well as toys for toddlers to play with.

Does your private school have a payment plan for tuition?
Private kindergartens and nursery schools can get expensive. Not everyone can pay for them outright. Many offer monthly or quarterly payment plans where you can pay a little each time instead of having to fork over the whole amount.

Clearly the physical location and overall appearance of the nursery school and/or kindergarten education facility is crucial. There is much more to finding the right boy and girl day care center than choosing the preschool nearest to your home or work. A background check on the facility is mandatory. You not only want to appreciate where the public or private learning facility is located, but you additionally need to trust the workers and staff. After all, they will be taking care of your young child or children when you're not there. Proceed to access the Internet and learn all you can about who the beginning school is affiliated with and how long they've been in business. Find out who is a teacher at the nursery school and how much tuition or enrollment fee rates are. Do they watch toddler aged children or only kindergarten boys and girls? How is their overall magnet education program and do they watch young children late in the afternoon. You'll need to make certain the day care center or preschool can cater to your individual or family schedule. If they cannot for some reason or another, you'll need to keep searching. On a separate note, are they a reputable school that you feel good about? This is more important than the actual tuition fees or rates they demand. You must visit the preschool facility or nursery school and feel good about it. When you give it a once over and speak with the teachers, you must feel good about it. If you feel like there is something off or simply do not trust the kindergarten or day care center, then go with your intuition. Do not take a chance with your children.
