If you need to visit an eye care professional, then these questions will help you to choose a doctor or optometrist that will be affordable, experienced, and caring. You will also want to choose a laser eye surgeon with a good track record so that you will feel comfortable.
Will my insurance cover an exam and prescription?
Not all insurances will cover clinical visits. After you give your information to the receptionists, they should be able to tell you whether or not their tests and treatments will be covered. Some procedures aren’t covered either, such as cataract surgery, glaucoma treatment, and lazy eye correction.
Will Lasik eye surgery help my vision?
You should ask the surgeon this during your first appointment. Not all vision correction is necessary. If the prescription is light, then surgery may not be necessary and the risks would outweigh the positive impact.
Would glasses or contact lenses be better for me?
Contact lenses can cause redness and irritation in some people. Unfortunately, there’s no way to tell if this will happen unless you try it. For others, glasses are too annoying and can also irritate the skin because the individual is not use to the metal or plastic parts.
Do you have a website with reviews or references on it?
You want to be sure the doctor, optometrist, or optician you visit has a good track record and meets your needs. If you don’t you might just end up with a doctor that will give you a bad prescription or is too hesitant to recommend laser surgery. An ophthalmology or optometric center should provide you with the best care possible.

"I had just moved to the area and only chose Pacific Optical because of how quick they could get me in. When I was there I saw why her books are so open! The optometrist was VERY rude to both myself and my daughter. To top it all off, they billed my insurance $100 a box for two boxes of contacts that cost $30 eleswhere. Then they only gave me ONE BOX of lenses!! I am in the process of filing a comp ..."

The physical location and appearance of an optometrist's business can play a significant role in how you perceive them as a consumer. It doesn't matter if you're seeking the assistance of eye physicians or a surgery specialist dr to acquire laser eye treatment, a routine eye exam or help with an infection, exams, tears, centers, advance, associates, vision, bright, irritation, problems, left, twitching, dry, drops, disease, prevent, disorders, strain, wear, swollen, symptoms and you will surely want the establishment to be clean and professional. When you do meet with an eye doctor or optometrist in person, make sure you address their customer service skills. Any eye dr or surgery specialist that fails to treat you properly should be passed on. Also, it's generally a good idea to investigate the success of the physician's business. Is the eye treatment facility merely a local business or is it available nationwide? This can often hint on the success of the eye surgery clinic or family optometric center. When all is said and done, a great deal depends upon whether or not the optometrist, eye surgery doctor or physician can properly assist you with regular eye exams, laser eye treatments, lazy eye, bloodshot watery eyes, irritated red eyes, contacts, glasses, lasik eye surgery or more serious eye dilemmas. Unfortunately those who cannot should be overlooked and ruled out. Not only do you need an eye doctor or optometrist that can grant you ideal service, but you need an eye physician who's able to assist you in your time of need and at a rate you can afford. Lastly, make note of the eye doctor's business hours and whether or not they're accepting new patients. You'll additionally want to know if they accept your insurance company.
