Horse Boarding and Training

Horse boarding and training facilities offer a variety of services for horse lovers. Their stables are kept clean, horses are given time outside in pastures to graze when weather permits, and are trained by professional instructors for sport. Large ranches provide full service boarding and training lessons for riding, jumping, and dressage. Clients with a competitive streak can train their horses for equestrian shows in Western and English styles. Turnout and training lessons vary by price and instructor.

Since horses do not like to be kept inside, boarding facilities must have outdoor areas for horses to graze. In addition to giving horses shelter, many facilities have trails for their owners to ride on, provide riding lessons for all ages, and host equine shows. Each boarding and training facility has their own list of services that they provide for horses, including having stables for rent. Information on services is available online or by speaking with an employee.

Equine boarding and training farms hire employees who enjoy working with the horses. Some hire instructors for day camps with children who are interested in learning how to ride and care for horses. Employees clean the stalls and provide maintenance work when needed. They may prepare an outdoor arena for an upcoming show the facility is holding. Others provide information to horse owners who are interested in taking out a lease for one or more of their stables.

Horse trainers often start as an assistant to a trainer to learn how to get horses to break bad habits, and horse psychology, personalities, and health. They work to establish a strong show record to show potential clients. Trainers must be prepared to get hurt while on the job and must teach riders the way to behave around a horse to decrease the chances of getting badly hurt.

While gambling on races can be fun, others enjoy actually riding the horse when racing, jumping, and steeple chasing. If this is you, owning a horse can be an expensive bill. There are boarding and training facilities available that range in price depending on how much they charge for maintenance and transportation fees. Stables will come in different sizes that will also affect the monthly cost for the facility. To find a business that boards and trains wild and domestic animals, search online or in a phone book to find numerous options you can check on. Speaking with somebody that works at the facility can give you an idea on how well they enjoy their job, which can be an important factor when knowing how well your animal will be cared for. Mammals will commonly need to be housed, whether it's for a vacation or if your home doesn't have the means to keep them full-time. Call multiple businesses and ask about their rates, maintenance procedures, and harnesses they use when transporting the animals. Pet boarding and training should be done by a professional who has experience working with animals and has special tricks that they have found works well with different types of animals. Friends and family may also have a place they like to take their animals when they're going out of town. Ask around and see who you're most often referred to. Ask about their personal experience with the workers and owners. Customer satisfaction reviews on stables can be a great tool in helping decide who you will trust to take care of your pet when you're not around.
