    A bail bond company offers to post the money to get you out of jail - but at a price. Typically the company will require a fee for their services, which is often a percentage of the total cost of your bail. The agent of the company puts up the money for your temporary release, on the guarantee from you that you will appear in court on your appointed day. At that time, the court will refund the amount of your bail, and the money can go directly to the bail bond company. However, you will be responsible for the additional amount of money necessary to cover the bail bond company's fee. If you don't show up in court, you will responsible for the full bail amount, and a bounty hunter may be sent out to track you down and enforce your jail time once again.
