Countertops: What to Ask your Contractor

While it can be done by a homeowner himself, installing a new kitchen or bathroom counter is often best handled by a professional. Once you’ve narrowed your choices down and found the contractor you’d like to hire, there are a few questions you should ask.

  • What type of surface would you recommend for my needs?
    Bathroom and kitchen counters often work best with different materials. Marble might be something to consider for the bathroom, since it’s expensive but you won’t have to cover much area. Granite may be better suited for the kitchen because of its ability to stand up to high heat.
