Real Estate Commercial & Investment Info
A career in the commercial real estate market as a broker or agent can be both lucrative and rewarding. As an agent or broker, you will help investors that are looking to buy commercial real estate, by showing them buildings and helping them appraise the value of those spaces.
Once you are hired, you will browse the listings and take your client to see what buildings are for sale. Then you can help walk them through the process of getting a loan from the bank. If the bank agrees to lend them the money, you will then help them understand the terms and conditions of their contract.
Some agents also help clients find offices to rent. In this case, they help clients browse listings and then negotiate the terms of the lease on the commercial property.
While a college degree is not required to be a real estate agent, you will need to get a license. Many real estate offices will offer to pay for your training if you agree to work for their company or firm. You could also decide to pay your own way and open your own office. You will need to be careful about what license you get though, as a commercial license is different from a residential license.
While the market can be fickle, there is a great opportunity to make a lot of money in the real estate industry. Talk to local agencies and brokers to learn more about this exciting career, and decide if it’s the right choice for you.
