| The parents to my puppies are on premises, and I gladly invite anyone to see them and the puppies. I have every medical record, on all of my Rotts, mother, father and puppies, and I will gladly show them to anyone who is interested. I do not claim to be a breeder, I simply have a purebred male and female who happen to have a litter of puppies.... I spend time with my dogs, all day long, as I am a stay at home wife and mother. My female stays in the house with me most of the time, (until she had the puppies) she needs to be with them to nurse them. Again I do not claim to be a breeder, I just absolutely love Rottweillers!!! and wanted my baby to have one litter of pups before I have her fixed. |

You do not claim to be a breeder? Well, that says it all right there. Just to have a litter (and a large litter at that) of puppies just because you love your girl is totally irresponsible!
If you will post your dogs AKC registration numbers here, we can do a search to see what health certifications they have. You should have had OFAs done on their hips, hearts and elbows and a CERF exam on their eyes. Was this done? If not, you are nothing more than a backyard breeder in it for the money. How about the sire and dam of each of your dogs? Did they have all their health certifications or did you purchase them from a backyard breeder yourself? What do you know about their pedigrees, about temperaments and stability in the last 3-4 generations? Inherent qualities can skip generations, you need to research and know the background qualities or misgivings on the dogs you breed.
Will you be selling these puppies on a contract with a spay/neuter requirement and will you be guaranteeing (with a full refund of money back) all health and temperament issues? If not, again you are nothing more than a backyard breeder. If you do not sell them with a hip, heart and eye guarantee you are nothing more than a backyard breeder.
Have you shown and titled your dogs? Have they EARNED the right to be bred? I suspect not. I suspect they have done nothing but sit in your backyard and while you take them for walks and love them, you have done nothing with them to prove |

Amen Sharon!
Wise words indeed and I hope that prospective buyers will be VERY aware of their actions and learn as much as they can about Rottweilers, the training they require, and the commitment they are making. It's not just about getting a pup home and showering it with love. LEARN BEFORE YOU BUY. |

| Sandy, Sharon and Lucy's mom.... Look, I am well aware that a Rottweiller or any other breed needs much more than love and a walk now and then. You all need to get a life, do something more than trying to harrass everyone that list on this message board. Renea |

Renea,
It's not harrassment, it's called public education. If you KNOW that your Rottweiler needs more than just love and a walk, why have you not done all the health certifications you should have on them before breeding them? If you don't want to list the health certs that you have done, at least list your two dog's AKC registration names and numbers, we can then look up the health certifications ourselves.
We are educating those in the public who have no resources to the Rottweiler world. They do not need to be taken in by so-called "breeders" who do not do health certifications on their dogs, provide written contracts with guarantees and/or show and title their dogs.

Thank you for recommending that I get a life, however I think you need to know I already have one...this is just part of it :)
Aside from working 40+ hours a week and taking care of my family, I spend countless amount of time working, training, and trialing my dogs to title....neutered and spayed, yes, so why bother you may wonder? Because I know right from wrong, know that just because I LOVE my dogs like no others, think they're the best thing that ever walked the face of the Earth, I STILL understand that they are NOT the best of the best and do not NEED to pass on their genes just because everyone I know wants a puppy out of them :::Rolling Eyes:::
Good day, and I pray that you will take the time to do this litter some justice in placing them under spay/neuter/PET HOMES and then immediately take your un-proven "breeding" stock to the vet and have them altered immediately. |

| Who cares (really) about some of this stuff. The important thing here is that these puppies get a GOOD HOME and are not NEGLECTED, ABUSED or HOMELESS. Why don't you people spend an afternoon VOLUNTEERING in a animal shelter like I do - then you may realize that some of the stuff you are posting makes no difference in the life of an animal. |

Nour,
Your reply has A LOT to do with what we are trying to do here!
If irresponsible "BREEDERS" STOPPED breeding IRRESPONSIBLE LITTERS, the shelters you AND ME (yes, ME) volunteer in wouldn't be swarming with unwanted dogs....most of which never find homes and die a miserable death!
RESPONSIBLE breeders take the time to place each and every puppy in responsible homes and THEN do check-ups on these pups for the rest of their lives. If ever the pup needs a DIFFERENT home, that RESPONSIBLE breeder is going to be there ready and willing to take it back...no matter the age!
I will never stop educating people on my breed of choice. NEVER! People can tell me I'm wasting my time but if I can make a difference in even ONE person's mind, then my job is done. |

| P.S. By taking on responsible breeding practices, responsible breeders also make sure they're breeding dogs of sound temperament. Back Yard Breeders don't take the time to prove their dog's temperament (or structure) therefore placing pups whom are pre-disposed to these problems...which leads unsuspecting buyers to find themselves with a dog who is either ill physically or mentally...and then dump them off in a shelter somewhere. |
