Questions About Sand and Gravel

Sand and gravel are often mixed with clay, water and other materials to create an important aggregate called cement. This is in turn helps contractors create buildings, asphalt roads, driveways, and almost any construction project you can think of.     Gravel and sand are prominent in most landscapes – even without being combined to create cement. Gravel is used to create decorative stone walkways, fountains, and ponds. Sand is used to create dirt pathways and to help support paving stones. Sand is also added to ground soil to improve its texture and help it absorb water.
