Tips for Choosing Luggage
Going on a trip? You’ll need some luggage to haul your belongings. Whether you’re a business traveler or a family going to Disney World, there are plenty of options when it comes to choosing the right luggage set for your needs. You can purchase luggage at any retail department store or specialty store. From rolling suitcases and backpacks to motorcycle bags and laptop cases, be prepared when you head to the store to pick out your luggage. The following are some tips on how to select the best kind:

Tip #1: Consider Weight and Size
That expensive metal or leather suitcase may look nice in the store but it may be heavier than standard suitcases. If it’s heavy to pick up with nothing in it, imagine how heavy it will be when you’re rushing through the airport hauling that suitcase behind you filled with clothing. Choose lightweight suitcases for your ultimate comfort. Also, consider size. Choose smaller bags to avoid having to check your luggage, especially if you’re a frequent business traveler.

Tip #2: Consider Organization Extras
Pockets are a good thing, especially when it comes to luggage. You need places to quickly stash airline tickets, paperwork, an umbrella, magazines or a quick snack. The more pockets and filing folder accordion organizer systems the luggage features, the better.

Tip #3: Choose Expandable Carry-ons
This convenient choice is ideal for those going on a vacation for pleasure, when you know you’ll be bringing home souvenirs and such. Take a carry-on with an expandable option, and you’ll gain a few inches in depth later when you start to stuff those trinkets in for the trip home.

If you love to travel with your large family, make sure to invest in a matching set of luggage. Having a matching set, no matter if it is designer or inexpensive, can help you to find your whole family's suitcases at the airport.

Picking luggage with wheels can also be helpful. Children who may not be able to carry a suitcase by hand, can wheel a rolling suitcase on their own. Suitcases with wheels are also better for your back.

When packing, make sure to put all heavy items such as gifts in a hard-side suitcase. When traveling with clothing, it is okay to use a duffle or backpack for your gear. You can cut down on the amount of bags that you use by having all family members share a travel bag to put toiletry items and accessory items.

If you or your spouse needs to work while on the trip, make sure to pack a leather attaché case or laptop bag. Have a checklist set up before you leave the house so you do not forget smaller items, such as a briefcase or wallet.

If you are attending a wedding, garment bags are vital. When a gown or tuxedo that has already been pressed gets wrinkled, it can be a nightmare. Using a garment bag will prevent this.

Allow your kids to use their own lightweight, messenger bags or hand held bags to hold personal belongings like books. These small bags can also be good for trolley or train rides. Bring some expandable bags in case your children want to bring home some souvenirs from the trip. When flying, remember that most airlines have strict limits for the number of carryon bags allowed. Make sure that your family does not exceed the carryon limit of bags.
