Important Terms to Know About Boxes Paper
Paper boxes are square-shaped devices that hold items, often made out of recyclable materials such as cardboard. If you are looking to move or relocate, you’ll need plenty of paper boxes to hold all your stuff. Gifts also come in paper boxes, which come from paper mills. Containers of this type come in all shapes and sizes depending on the purpose. The following are some important terms regarding paper boxes:

Corrugated Fiberboard: Paper material comprised of a fluted corrugated sheet and flat linerboard, used in the manufacturing industry in regards to corrugated boxes and shipping containers. Corrugated medium and linerboard consist of containerboard about 0.01 inches thick.

Paperboard: Thick paper that is even thicker than standard paper. Whether single or multi-ply, paperboard is easily cut or formed because of its light weight and durability. Used primarily in packaging and graphic printing.

Bond Paper: Durable, high quality writing paper with a greater weight than standard writing paper. It’s used in government bonds, letterheads and stationery.

Card Stock: Also known as pasteboard, this paper stock is thicker than standard writing paper, but it’s thinner than other types of paperboard. You’ll often see card stock used for business cards, post cards, scrapbooking paper, catalogs and playing cards.

Paper Density: Also known as basis weight, this term refers to the mass of a product per unit of area for paper. Used in the pulp and paper industry, this term refers to a measure of the area density. Paper with little or no light being let through is considered to have dense or heavy weight. Paper that shows a bit of light through it, such as tissue paper, is thought to be lightweight.

Paper boxes have become so common that you will most likely use at least one on the average day. These boxes are produced by workers in a paper mill and then shipped to the buyer. These containers have replaced the need for straw cartons and heavy wooden crates. The cardboard is created from various materials such as recycled paper, cloth and wood. To make stronger containers, manufacturers add corrugated layers. With these durable boxes, various items can be wrapped and moved with ease. They can hold anything from tissues to gifts to apparel.

If you are interested in obtaining a job in a paper mill, you will be glad to know that many positions have no educational requirements, although having your high school diploma and some form of training would be helpful. New workers are trained by becoming helpers to experienced employees. There are also apprenticeships you can apply for. These typically last three or four years, but you will be trained in multiple different crafts. The boxes you will manufacture will be helpful to a wide range of individuals, professions and industries.

Cardboard containers are used by cake bakers when shipping their decorated creations. In store where you find party supplies, right beside the tissue and wrapping paper, you will find gift boxes of various sizes, even small ones designed to hold tiny favors for guests. The stronger corrugated cartons are handy when mailing and transporting large items. They are also used by grocers. Since they are durable they can be packed with things like food and wine. Corrugated boxes can be found in most storage rooms; most people used them when they relocate because they stack and can be moved easily. Few careers will have such an immense effect on daily living than that of a paper box manufacturer.
