Bagels

The bagel business is one that features many components. Manufacturers, distributors and bakery specialists in this line of work handle fresh bread, pastry products, and bagels every day. As a baker, café worker or franchise owner in this field, you must know your way around cream cheese, muffins, and healthy breakfast foods. After all, you are likely to be involved with anything from organic breads, to coffee beverages, to bagels with eggs or lox salmon on a regular basis. Although it does depend on where you work, many of these breakfast foods go hand in hand.

As a bagel baker, you will have to understand how to properly mix dough to make this type of dense bread correctly. You will also need to understand how long bagels are baked, and how long they remain fresh. This means acquiring the right type of training for the job. While you can go to a baking school to learn more about different types of breads, cream cheeses, pastry baking, and natural ingredients, you can also study under a baker. Some of the common flavors you will deal with as a bagel distributor or bakery specialist are cinnamon raisin, onion, poppy seed, blueberry, everything and sesame seed. There are also fun flavors like salt, olive, cheese, chocolate chip, and jalapeno sold today. In this business, you may even deal with typical deli meats, such as lox and ham.

As a cafe or deli owner, you will generally deal with a large number of consumers. However, you will also have to work with ingredient suppliers and possibly other bakers on occasion. It just depends on where you work.

Bagels are bakery goods that are made from salt, yeast, water, and flour. They are simple baked goods, but it takes a lot of practice to make a really good bagel with natural flavors. In order to get the bagels and services that you need from a bakery, you will need to know what questions to ask them. When you contact the bakery franchise, ask them how long they have been making bagels daily. Those who have been making them for a long time should have the experience they need for their bagels to taste fresh and delicious. Ask them if they have cream cheeses and lox to serve with their bagels. Cream cheese and lox are traditional toppings, so a good bakery should have them for you. Ask them what kinds of natural flavors they use to make their old fashioned bagels. You might want blueberry, rye, sesame seed, egg, cinnamon raisin, pumpernickel, kosher rye, onion, poppyseed, or everything bagels. Ask the bakeries if they use natural ingredients for their flavors. If you need delivery services so that you can have your bagels at a meeting or event, ask the caterers if they offer this service. Some caterers charge more for delivery, so be sure to ask if they include delivery in the price of your order or if you will have to pay extra for the service. Find out if they deliver hot coffee for you meeting too. When you find the old fashioned bagel bakery that you like, get their contact info so that you can contact them easily the next time that you need to place an order.
