Logging Companies

Saws, crawlers, cranes, trucks, and other industrial supplies and equipment are frequently used in the logging business. Lumberjacks use these tools to clear trees from wooded areas, and transport them to mills where they are cut into smaller pieces. They are then distributed to companies, such as paper manufacturers, construction companies, and hardwood flooring providers.

Lumberjacks have extensive experience in this arena, often boasting construction experience. Many are environmentally conscious and strive to replace what they take. The logging business is often a family business, with companies being passed down from generation to generation. Many loggers learn the trade through on-the-job training, rather than through formal education. However, courses are available to learn about the latest industry technologies on the market in terms of forestry and harvesting timber.

Safety should be at the forefront of any logging company. Many safety regulations are in place to protect the loggers as well as wildlife. Logging companies offer many services, such as large and small track logging, custom cuts, clearing, and consulting. Depending on the type of company, it may also offer road building, home site development, and sales of all-natural bark mulch. Tree services operate on a smaller scale and provide tree clearing, stump removal, and debris clearing for residential houses and small business customers.

Logging websites do a great job of alerting the customer to potential deals and discounts, outlines of services, company backgrounds, forestry experience, and instant rate quotes. Some companies boast emergency services, and even 24/7 support. Whether the milled wood, lumber, or timber is destined to become hardwood flooring, furniture, or paper, quality logging starts in the forest. Customers should expect quality, efficient service at affordable costs.

"We could have gotten$800 for firewood and didn't even get $700 for a 3,500 sq. ft.of logs.I can't afford to get ripped off like this but we didn't do any better with the next guy. They selected 12 logs out of 90+ logs and only paid $300 for them. I realize that times are tough with the log prices but I worked very hard to get ripped off. Watch those logging companies!!!!!!! ..."

When choosing a reputable logging company, whether it's for commercial or residential purposes, research the company's background thoroughly. Choose a few different tree services or logging companies in your community to start with and contact each one. Ask for references if applicable, contact information, and written quotes. Be direct. Make sure you get all costs in writing, and get a copy of the complete contract beforehand. Be sure to keep within your budget. Ask how long the company has been in business and whether they are a local, national or multinational company. Keep in mind that tree services companies and lumberjack companies typically work with heavy duty machinery such as a logging truck, crawler, wire, tower crane, or rigging truck to clear a small area of trees or an entire forest, for agriculture, industrial or commercial needs. Inquire as to what types of equipment the service will use, such as wire, rope, safety equipment, tower crane, logging supplies, safety equipment supplies, hardware accessories, chain saws, and chain breaker. Also, make sure the company is properly licensed. To make sure you find the best tree service for cutting trees, take a drive by the location of the company to get a feel for physical appearance and integrity. Chat with the staff to see if they are courteous. Make appointments with each company and make sure the professional is timely. It's a good idea to ask for before-and-after photos from previous jobs. Get written quotes before forestry services are rendered, whether it involves simple tree stump removal or a large commercial forest job, building job, or agriculture job. Keep in mind the company's availability, hours, and services. Whether you are in need of lumber removal or tree cutting services, consider a logging company for your needs.
